Over the last year, BuzzFeed Open Lab and OpenNews have actively collaborated to write, edit and test The Field Guide to Security Training in the Newsroom (https://securitytraining.opennews.org), a curriculum for newsroom digital privacy and security training. A number of different collaborators have expressed interest in translating the guide into Spanish, but genuine localization requires more than simply translating the English guide. Join us to talk through what it would really take to assemble an effective newsroom digital security curriculum for local newsrooms. We can take that project straight to the hack-a-thon if people are excited to keep working on it.
