Many news organizations have mission and values statements. But what about incorporating members and the needs of the communities we serve? Together with New York University's Membership Puzzle Project (a think tank that studies how news can be more trustworthy), let's draft manifestos for and with supporter input about their side of the social contract. This will be a roll-up-your-sleeves session to start ensuring that members' voices are more fully considered in organizational decision-making.

How rare is this: Emily is first an advocate for consumers, helping newsrooms figure out how to build engaged communities. She was the first UX research lead at the NYT with plenty of membership case studies up her sleeve.
